The City of Caldwell Police Department is seeking Entry Level Police Officers to join our ranks!
Job Summary/Qualifications: Performs routine police work, enforces laws and ordinances for the protection of life and property; performs related work as required. The principal function of an employee in this class is to maintain community order through enforcing local, state and federal laws. The work involves preventing and investigating crimes, patrolling the City of Caldwell area enforcing traffic laws and ordinances, responding to citizen's calls for service, applying community policing procedures, and making presentations to schools or civic groups. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Sergeant or Police Lieutenant, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. An employee in this class performs the duties of other employees in the Caldwell Police Department as required or as assigned by supervisory personnel and may perform duties associated with the patrol division or the detective division. The principal duties of this class are performed in a work environment in which the employee is subject to potential personal danger. The City of Caldwell will be testing to fill current openings for the position of police officer. The Caldwell Police Department has 85 officers to serve a population of approximately 70,000. Patrol officers work 10-hour shifts. Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with other City employees and the general public.
Must be 21 years of age.
Testing: Testing consists of a written test and physical fitness test. This will be done January 11th, 2025, at 09:00 am. CPD will be reaching out to candidates.
Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and polygraph test.

Pay Range: Starting at $27.45 for entry level Police Officer.
