This role supports students at San Diego, Imperial Valley, and Global Campuses.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students and families with inquiries related to financial aid, scholarships, and budgeting.
  • Review financial aid and scholarship awards for compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assess financial and academic circumstances and provide recommendations.
  • Support scholarship program coordinators with tasks such as pre-offers, post-acceptance processes, committee support, and scholarship disbursements.
  • Manage external scholarships and scholarship-related reports.
  • Assist with financial aid and scholarship support across multiple campuses.
  • Serve as a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.Education and ExperienceEquivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.Key Qualifications
    • Knowledge of individual and group behavior principles, research and observation techniques for data collection and interpretation, and interviewing methods.
    • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
    • Capable of participating in and contributing to meetings, conferences, and interviews.
    • Strong oral communication skills for expressing ideas and recommendations.
    • Proficient in writing clear and concise reports.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,952 per month.Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
