VHB has consistently been rated as one of the top Engineering Firms to work for up and down the East Coast, was named one of Crain's New York Business 100 Best Places to Work in New York City and has a high CEO approval rating on Glassdoor.ResponsibilitiesWorking within a team of professionals in developing mobility and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projectsTraffic impact studiesTraffic modeling using a variety of toolsSafety studiesTransportation planning analysesResearch and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographics to assess the mobility needs of a communityPrepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsTraffic data collection and tabulationIntersection and roadway level of service analysesDevelopment, analysis and evaluation of traffic improvementsDesign of traffic control devicesSkills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivatedAttention to detailAbility to think criticallyStrong computer skillsExcel in working in a team environmentQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with coursework in Transportation/Traffic Engineering (Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering would be a plus)Minimum of 0-1 years of civil / transportation engineering / planning experienceExperience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or model-based design a plusExperience with VISSIM, Synchro and HCS a plusExperience with ArcGIS a plusExperience with VBA, PYTHON, SQL, and databases a plusCover letters preferredOur best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $78,000-$84,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.W e are VHB!
