Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Probst Group has an exciting opportunity within our Technical Services Team. We are currently seeking an entry-level Wastewater Operator to assist our customers and organization in the operation of our wastewater treatment system primarily based in Sullivan, WI, with some travel to Burlington, WI. Under the supervision of the Operator-in-Charge, the Wastewater Operator will be responsible for operating two small domestic wastewater treatment facilities. This role will involve close collaboration with clients, federal and state regulatory agencies, and various departments within Probst.Although officially established in 2008, the Probst Group has been providing true, customized solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients for over 30+ years. We take pride in our extensive experience in industrial wastewater engineering and operations.As a Wastewater Operator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations and preventative maintenance of the facility. In addition to job related tasks as assigned by management, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Wastewater Operation Focus: Monitor the wastewater treatment process, report issues, and learn to make operational adjustments Complete checklists and record data (e.g., meters, gauges) Collect wastewater samples and coordinate transport or transport to a third-party laboratory Conduct basic lab analysis in-house, record results, and maintain data log Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wastewater facility and lab Support routine maintenance and repair of equipment (e.g., pumps, valves) Maintain spare part inventory Handle chemicals following SOP's and SDS Participate in the on-call rotation to provide stand-by support after-hours Provide vacation coverage for operators at other Probst sites as needed Approximately 50% travel to Probst and client facilities primarily based in Wisconsin Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to respond within 1 hour when on call
  • Must have experience using MS Office (Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook)
  • Effective problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Preferred Experience:
  • Ability to operate various equipment and tools safely
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience in customer service or a customer-facing position
