Job Description:

Key Purpose

The HSEQ Manager provides account leadership and functional development and implementation Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality culture and associated programs, in alignment with Group and NAM requirements and objectives across multiple account sites.

The successful candidate will implement programs for the sites across the area assigned, and will ensure the performance of work has zero impact on the client's operations. The HSEQ Manager partners with, and supports, Facilities Managers (FM) with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) related activities, and collaborates with FMs and local leads to ensure relevant ISS standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory and client requirements are current and maintained.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance / solutions to account to maintain a safe work environment consistent with regulatory, company and client requirements company policy and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). Review and oversee all work processes and conditions to ensure HSEQ protective measures are optimized.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic solutions and continual improvement of HSE strategies, management system and programs
  • Monitor key metrics and KPIs across the account to drive culture and operational excellence. This includes trending injury, illness, and incident related performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance and develop and implement strategic solutions that will improve performance result as required
  • Participate in and facilitate investigation of incident and nonconformities. Work with the applicable Placemakers to develop appropriate Corrective Action Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and track to completion.
  • Timely communicate all findings, concerns and deficiencies to the responsible management team and ensures that issues, concerns, and deficiencies are corrected.
  • Monitor compliance with regulations and conformance with company and client standards.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues within the assigned area and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participate in project groups and meetings as required
  • Coach and develop associates within the assigned area/teams
  • Support and sustain ISS management systems
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services.
  • Perform internal audits of sites to ensure both client and ISS conformance
  • Provide inspection readiness, as needed, for regulatory inspections
  • Promote safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting safety meetings, giving timely feedback, safety suggestions, and visibly supporting the safety program
  • Perform site level observations and risk assessments and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Support business unit's operators in the utilization of HSE related software
  • Provide direct support and resource coordination during account acquisition, transition or refresh, including direction as to account HSE requirements.
  • Track regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices. Communicate impact and update programs and documentation as required.
  • Act as a safety resource to staff and employees as an HSEQ subject matter expert

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agencies requirements. Knowledge of Canadian regulatory requirements preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience delivering HSE programs and initiatives in large, industrial, manufacturing environments
  • Affinity with / knowledge of large, service-driven, matrix organizations
  • Ability to translate business objectives and strategies into an operational program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex issues and resolves concerns with sensitivity within all levels of an organization
  • High level of organization and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001, HACCP and GMP systems. Certified ISO auditor an asset.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to travel, 10%-20%
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Extended periods of walking on premises
  • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

The annual salary range for this position is $108000.00 per year - $120000.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills an may vary from the range listed above.
