The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the integration of environmental health & safety services into the business practices and compliance with regulatory requirements on their assigned Project. The EHS manager shall be project based. The EHS manager oversees responsibilities of their assigned Project as related to environmental health & safety services and has direct interaction with EH&S Staff, Superintendents, Project Manager, Project Executive and Area / Regional EHS Director.
EHS Manager Required Qualifications:
- Experience as head of safety for at least one transit, commuter rail, or design build project.
- NYC Track Safety trained.
- At least 90 days experience working on Right of Way (“ROW”) with flagging and diversions of service.
- NYC Department of Building 40-hour Site Safety Managers course (License is not required).
- Successful completion of 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health course.
- Possess and maintain a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License.
- Possess and maintain a current C-3 / C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.
- Active member of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
- Familiar with all aspects of heavy civil construction.
- Able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Bachelor's Degree – Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
