Position Summary:

The Attributes Analyst role serves two primary functions within the Environmental Attributes Department: (1) Support the Company's revenue streams by maintaining compliance with state and federal renewable fuel programs. This requires the ability to adhere to recurring deadlines related to the generation, verification, transfer, and auditing of environmental attributes produced from the Company's renewable energy business. (2) Facilitate the Company's collective understanding of renewable energy policy and economics, assisting in the development of regulatory strategy and advocacy. This is accomplished through the continual monitoring and analysis of relevant political, regulatory, and market-oriented factors.

Detailed list of job responsibilities includes:

* Process the generation and sale of environmental attributes from Montauk's production of renewable natural gas

* Review and become familiar with reporting requirements under all programs the Company participates in, including the Renewable Fuel Standard, California Low Carbon Fuel Standard, and other state and federal programs as necessary

* Maintain QAP compliance and assist in registration for all RIN- and LCFS credit-generating sites through quarterly data submittals

* Coordinate quarterly compliance audits and semi-annual site audits for all high-Btu energy plants

* Respond to information and compliance requests from third parties

* Manage quarterly and annual reporting under EPA RFS

* Track and report on market activity including the trading and pricing of environmental attributes under RFS, LCFS, and Oregon CFS programs

* Monitor, analyze, and report on energy usage and pricing trends related to biogas industry and market analysis of future trends and projections

* Monitor, analyze, and report on changes in energy, climate, and transportation regulations, incentives, policy frameworks, and goals; assist in development of company position and related comments as necessary

* Conduct ongoing in-depth analysis of RFS rulemakings; assist in development of company position and related comments; provide in-person testimony at public hearings

* Manage EIA electric generator reporting for all electricity generating sites in Montauk's portfolio

* Other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor

Skills and Qualifications:

* B.S. in environmental science or similar degree

* 1-3 years of experience in environmental science or energy type field; RNG/attribute program experience preferred but not required

* Detail-oriented self-starter

* Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives and manage multiple priorities and tasks within tight timelines

* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

* Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving

* Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint

* Required to be able to stand, sit, walk, and lift light objects

* Hearing and visual acuity are necessary for this position

* Moderate travel required
