Job Summary
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Environmental/Regulatory Department for Sully-Miller Contracting Company, United Rock Products and Blue Diamond Materials.
Main Responsibilities
- Acts as liaison with third party contractors and consultants for projects associated with regulated substances.
- Acts as liaison with governmental agencies, and City departments for environmental matters relating to URP and BD sites
- Code and ensure that invoices and check requests are turned in to AP in a timely manner
- Collect and upload compliance data to RECLAIM, SMARA, DOORS, TRUCRS, PERP, CERS, SMARTS, and GEOTRACKER
- Ensure that each plant facility's AQMD permits are up to date
- Monitor weather events and coordinate/inspect proper deployment of BMPs
- Provide, maintain and track the various environmental training of company personnel
- Must provide an environmental presence at the Irwindale facilities, including the pits
- Must work with outside consultant to update plant information books and training for Business Emergency Plan, SPCCs, and SWPPPs
- Participate in training/schooling for various certifications including but not limited to: Smoke reading, asphalt and aggregate plant operations, mine safety, storm water planning for plants and construction sites, Rules 403, 1157, 1155, and Method 22
- Prepare permits/documents for regulatory agencies (ex. Local air districts and fire departments)
- Obtain well readings for United Rock and prepare the Water Master's data to report to the San Gabriel Water Basin quarterly
- Responsible for the preparation of Annual Mining inspection reports
- Responsible for preparation of the financial assurance report
- Review Soil Testing data for acceptance, and the compliance data for import fill and inert fill operations
- Act as co-liaison for Colas and Sully-Miller's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related field (preferred)
- 2-3 years of experience in local, state (CA) and federal environmental regulations and compliance
- Previous experience with CA environmental regulations (preferred)
- Valid Driver's License with an excellent DMV record

Physical Requirements
