Environmental Coordinator
The Washington Works Environmental Coordinator is a key member to the site Environmental, Health, and Safety Team. This position is the “go to person” for all Waste Disposal Operations and Shipping, and other Environmental Compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations for safety, environmental protection, environmental reporting, inspections, packaging, and transportation
- Documentation: Maintain environmental records of your responsibility
- Audits: Participate in and lead audits and assessments
- Policies and Procedures: Develop and approve environmental policies and procedures
- Reporting: Create and approve required reports
- Emergency Response: Create and implement emergency response plans for spills and releases
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial environment or manufacturing environment
- Ability to interact effectively with Regulatory Agencies including EPA, DEP, and DOT
- Knowledgeable in hazardous waste shipping
- Ability to learn and work independently
- Ability to work with others involved in a variety of functions including operators, mechanics, engineers or various disciplines, management, and other leaders.
Highly Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Chemical Engineering
- Experience interacting with Regulatory Agencies including WV DEP, FRA, and NRC
- 3 or more years of applicable environmental experience, demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- General knowledge of RCRA and DOT Regulations
- Experience at a regulatory agency.
