General Description:The Environmental Drill Site Technician is a seasonal position for the North Slope Exploration Drilling Season. It is the single point of contact for all on-site environmental compliance, spill clean-up, and pollution prevention activities associated with drilling or construction operations. This position has direct accountability to the drill rig representative of the Member Company to which it is assigned; general supervision is provided by ACS Area Specific Operations Supervisor on this contracted position. The position is on-call 24 hours a day while on assignment. - Ensure a safe work environment.

- Monitor site activities, ensuring compliance with all permit requirements.
- Review camp/rig layout for conformance with prepared Polar Bear Interaction Plan.
- Immediate reporting of all wildlife interaction events.
- Monitor tundra travel activity reporting any tundra impacts.
- Monitor on-site housekeeping to minimize demobilization clean-up requirements.
- On-site Spill Leader on clean-up activities.
- Ensure adequate cleanup of all spills.
- Maintenance of all on-site spill response equipment.
- Visual inspection and startup of all equipment at the beginning of the job.
- Proficiency checks must be completed prior to operating all on-site equipment.
- Manage Drilling Conex inventory levels.
- Observe fueling and fuel transfer operations, ensuring best management practices are followed.
- Make audit rounds with Fueler maintaining fueling log.
- Ensure stationary equipment, including vehicles, containing fluids are parked on impermeable surfaces such as duck ponds or other suitable containments.
- Ensure all tanks, drum storage, valves and lines are placed in lined containments designed to contain 110% of the capacity of the largest vessel in the containment area.
- Monitor snow accumulation inside containment areas, keeping them free of snow and ice buildup.
- Ensure correct marking and storage of all containers. Label all drums and tanks on-site with rig name and number as well as the project name.
- Ensure pad and ice road are kept clean of drips, drops, spots, and debris. Keep all bull rail areas spotless.
- Perform all required spill reporting through the rig representative and ACS supervisor and maintain spill unit log.
- Monitor waste handling and segregation activities (e.g. potentially hazardous wastes vs. nonhazardous wastes).
- Check Satellite Accumulation Areas and Recycle Accumulation Areas and Universal Accumulation Areas daily. Work with shop mechanics, motor man, pipe shed workers, tool pusher, etc. to help keep waste stored on-site to a minimum.
- Take an initial 'Grab Sample' of incinerator ash (if applicable) prior to start-up as a fingerprint.
- Monitor temporary waste storage containment areas for containment integrity and proper levels (e.g. cuttings storage area).
- Verify appropriate waste manifesting is accomplished for all off-site waste shipments.
- Ensure all dumpsters are properly labeled. Inspect dumpsters for volume levels and compliance. Line oily waste dumpster if required. Work with kitchen staff to keep food waste streams to a minimum and ensure all food waste is placed in appropriate dumpsters or storage bins.
- Self-directed in tasks, work with minimal supervision, and provide effective leadership to work groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Exploration on the ice.
- Ability to work around locals from the village ensuring political correctness when communicating with the village representatives.
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to clearly read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Ability to be a single point of contact for immediate environmental issues. Self-directed in tasks and provide effective leadership to work groups.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Clearly read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Provide clear directions and effective feedback when required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Understand and take direction from variety of individuals including ACS, Member Company and Rig staff.
- NSTC Training
- Spill Response and Hazardous Waste experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Current 40-hour Hazwoper certification.
- Pass Hazwoper physical
- Respirator fit tested (Full Face).
- Work 12-hour days 7 days a week or longer as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- North Slope experience on the Conoco Phillips side is strongly preferred.
- Previous winter exploration and or construction experience.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. - MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.

- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. Have correctable vision to at least 20/40.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
