Combined we have over 20,000 multidisciplinary professionals worldwide collaborating daily to protect and conserve natural landscapes, create firm foundations for communities to stand on, and champion sustainable development to combat climate change.  As part of the team, you will have access to an unparalleled network of resources and endless opportunities to collaborate on exciting projects with diverse teammates from across the globe.This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a mid-level Environmental Engineer for our St. Louis, MO office.  Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.  The selected candidate will support environmental projects and proposal efforts that typically involve Phase I environmental site assessment, site characterization and investigation, and remediation.We are looking for someone to bring their talents, training, and solutions-oriented focus to work as a valued and respected member of our multidisciplinary team as we tackle some of the world's most challenging environmental problems by delivering some of the world's most relevant solutions.Your Impact Support for environmental projects, including, Phase I environmental site assessments, compliance audits, and hydrogeology and remediation field investigations. Design and conduct subsurface investigations which include drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging and environmental media sampling.Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and report preparation.Prepare reports, including documentation field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, development of graphical and tabular presentation of data, and Phase 1 environmental site assessments.Prepare proposals in response to client needs and other business development activities.Manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.Perform professional environmental engineering work and assist with conducting investigations and inspections of air emission sources, hazardous or solid waste facilities, water supply facilities, industrial and agricultural facilities, pollution sources and proposed and existing site conditions, water resources, and underground storage tanks to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.Verify the characteristics of a site, providing technical assistance on various environmental issues.Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You AreRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Geological Engineering or a related discipline.3 to 5 years of relevant experience.  Experience with reviewing and applying federal, state, and local EHS regulations.Experience performing Phase I environmental site assessments and environmental sampling.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Strong relational skills within the team environment and with clients.  Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, math principles, predictive models, and tools.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.Travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
