JOB SUMMARY:The Foreman position is part of the Operations Management department which is associated with the delivery of MER's four core service lines (Emergency Response, Industrial and Marine Services, Facility Decontamination, and Site Remediation.) The position is responsible for the safety, quality and profitability of all activities performed on assigned jobs. The Foreman is charged with running a singular job each day. The Foreman is expected to adhere to at all times and demonstrate the Company Core Values of Integrity, Mutual Respect, Discipline and Professionalism. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the primary driver of the field operations by managing personnel and equipment on assigned job to deliver client services that meet all Company objectives of:
- Quality - Health and Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Professionalism
- Customer Satisfaction - Responsiveness, On Time Arrival, Exceeding Client Expectations
- Profitability - Cost Control, Proper Resource Allocation and Efficiency

- Responsible for daily activities of assigned job through field support personnel
- Primary responsibility for implementation of MER Health & Safety Program and site specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP's) on assigned jobs.
- Reviews work order to assure that client contact, site address, time budget, resource requirements, work plan, site conditions, project specifications, quality assurance and other information is clear and adequate to establish client expectations
- Coordinates and/or assures logistical determinations and decisions on assigned jobs are carried out on a daily basis to assure that client expectations are exceeded
- Assures that all pre-project clearances, notifications and conditions are met
- Report progress of all assigned projects by regularly communicating with responsible field personnel and Operations management
- Prepares and accumulates required project documentation for assigned jobs to assure completeness, accuracy, quality, timeliness and follow up actions are carried out.
- Enforces company policies and procedures and effectively communicates performance feedback, guidance and mentoring support to field operations employees
- Maintains close communications with Supervisor, Operations Management and/or Program Managers to assure proper scheduling and resource needs are relayed and carried out
- Must participate in On-Call Emergency Response teams
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of field experience required
- Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, training and/or experience
- Strong communication (both written and verbal), analytical and persuasive skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, management and clients.
- Must be multi-task oriented and have strong supervisory, time management, organizational, and problem solving skills and the ability to understand and analyze components of jobs costs, profit and loss.
- Must be able to read, understand and implement Work Plans and site Health and Safety Plans of assigned jobs
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910, 1915 and 1926 standards, DOT standards and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory standards.
- Must be able to operate equipment and/or understand equipment capabilities and requirements of different types of jobs
- Ability to work in a wide range of environments including those involving hazardous conditions which may require lifting or exerting force exceeding 50 lbs.
- Must have appropriate licenses, in good standing and meet applicable MER and DOT driving requirements to operate company vehicles and equipment (documentation is required).
- Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
- Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.
- Must participate in and successfully complete continuing education training courses in occupational safety and environmental regulations as outlined by the MER employee development program. Minimum training requirements include:
