Description Your role at GEI. GEI is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Environmental Geologist / Scientist / Engineer to join us in Mt. Laurel, NJ or Exton, PA. Technical tasks include completion of environmental due diligence, preparation of work plans, development and implementation of environmental investigations and remedial strategies, review and interpretation of data, and regulatory reporting, preparation of associated permit applications. Management tasks include project planning and management; budget development and tracking; client, subcontractor, and agency interaction; and oversight of field staff. Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Plan and implement a variety of environmental projects.
- Conduct environmental due diligence in support of property transaction (Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments).
- Outline, compose, and present written arguments based on site-specific data and scientific judgment using clear and concise writing.
- Perform data management and analysis, prepare reports and technical presentations for delivery to clients and regulators.
- Design and oversee contaminated site investigations, including soil borings, monitoring well installation, indoor air quality assessment, and other environmental sampling.
- Prepare Conceptual Site Models and regulatory compliance reports.
- Develop remediation strategies for site closure
- Solicit bids from subcontractors, coordinating work, providing technical oversight to subcontractors, both in the field and remotely, including review of invoices and work proposals.
- Budget and scope of work preparation, tracking, staffing, and scheduling
- Delegate and coordinate project tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science (M.S. a plus)
- 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including task management, preparation of regulatory report submittals, and development of remedial specifications and designs.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting programs at the federal, state, and local levels, specifically with Pennsylvania's Land Recycling Program (Act 2) and Storage Tank Program (Act 32) as well as Chapter 102 and 105 regulations.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
- Valid U.S. Driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
