EMSL is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Assistant in Cinnaminson, NJ. This role will support our EHS program and work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintain the EHS safety database Conduct routine monthly safety audits in conjunction with Laboratory Departments for proper chemical storage and personal protective equipment Inspect safety showers and eye wash stations Assist in performing and documenting quarterly air flow measurements for department chemical hoods and countertop local exhaust ventilation Oversee hazardous waste storage, support transfer of waste to central accumulation area, schedule contractor pickup, maintain waste manifests, and prepare bi-annual reports Participate in local safety committee Maintain Safety Data Sheet database Support laboratory emergency drills such as fire and evacuation Collaborate with laboratory, engineering and facilities management as needed to complete laboratory safety program objectives Participate in incident investigation with EHS Manager and other team members Others duties as assigned to meet business needs Requirements:Bachelor's degree in related sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Safety, Industrial Hygiene) OR minimum of one to three years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience preferably in a laboratory setting Basic understanding and/or training in OSHA and EPA regulations, RCRA Hazardous Waste, and DOT/IATA shipping hazardous materials Detail oriented, strong communication and organizational skills, and ability to work with other employees within the facility Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) Available Shifts:Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account To find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
