Job Summary: The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Professional is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees on safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. Key Responsibilities:Develop and Implement EHS Programs:
- Design, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of EHS policies and procedures.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential EHS risks.
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Ensure that all employees are informed of safety protocols and procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular communication and engagement with staff.
Health and Safety Monitoring:
- Monitor workplace conditions and conduct regular safety inspections.
- Implement and maintain health and safety programs, such as ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and occupational health.
- Oversee the management of hazardous materials and waste.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and compliance efforts.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports to management.
- Ensure proper documentation of training sessions, inspections, and audits.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in EHS practices.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS programs and processes.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the overall safety culture of the organization.
Requirements Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of [5] years of experience in an EHS role.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in the Construction or Manufacturing Industry.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and training abilities.
