Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and sustainment of EHS programs, policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors; protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all national and local regulations for manufacturing plant.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and advise management of emerging environmental health, safety and welfare legislation
- Develop, implement and conduct safety training programs and conduct training sessions at for all manufacturing employees and contractors
- Maintain and communicate HS&E statistics and metrics
- Support in risk assessments and external safety audit/inspections and bring forth recommendations that will improve working conditions and reduce risk factors
- Coordinate the integration of environmental management and sustainability issues into policies, rules, services and operations
- Promote best practice in energy use, waste reduction and sustainable development and consult management on all matters relating to health, safety and environment to ensure consistent application
- Maintain records of safety violations, OSHA, workers compensation cases and administer the chemical safety program, including requirements for hazardous communication and global harmonization
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Health, Safety & Environmental Engineering/Science or a related field
- Bilingual Spanish Required
- Ideally 3-5 years of experience or a combination of education, training and experience
- Expertise, knowledge and understanding of OSHA
- Must be able to possess RCRA/DOT certification for handling of hazardous waste
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to Health, Safety and Environmental
