Our client, a leader in the production of aerosol products, is looking for an Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory Manager to join their growing team!
Pay: 110-120K
Location: Grundy County, IL
Schedule: M-Friday 8-5 core but flexible
Job Description:
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across all locations, and foster a Zero Injury/Zero Incident culture.
- Lead MESH Assessments, PSM/RMP audits, accident investigations, and conduct regular risk assessments for all operations and equipment.
- Ensure all employees receive necessary EHS training and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions using cause mapping methodology.
- Provide guidance to leadership and departments on EHS best practices, track EHS performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
REGULATORY
- Assist Vice President of Operations in coordinating efforts of third-party environmental consultants to ensure proper regulatory compliance for facilities.
- Work with the Sustainability Steering Committee and the entire team to maintain and drive improvement in the Sustainability Program.
- Manage Title V Air Permits, NDPES Permits, DOT related Permits.
- Lead waste minimization and emissions reduction programs.
MANAGEMENT
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (DHS, DOT, EPA, FRA, OSHA) and enforce company policies.
- Supervise departmental staff and interns, providing guidance and support to plant supervisors.
- Manage departmental budget, develop budgetary plans, and provide EHS-related input to financial reports.
- Investigate and report on accidents, spills, and incidents, and act on EHS opportunities to improve safety.
- Enhance interdepartmental communication, encourage employee input, and provide regular updates to the VP of Operations on activities and progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory Management, with a focus on risk and sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials, and environmental affairs. Experience with ISO14001, OHSAS18001, or ISO14501 is required.
