We are partnered up with a Manufacturing company that has 3 sites locally in their search for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join the team! This position will report into the Director of EHS and will be tasked with all things EHS but primarily implementing safety procedures and a job hazard analysis program. Description

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHA) for various tasks within the facility to identify potential hazards.
  • Work with operations teams to assess risks and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Document and update JHAs regularly to ensure they reflect any changes in tasks, equipment, or procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures and protocols to meet regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Ensure employees receive proper training and understand safety procedures, including emergency response and accident prevention.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to safety policies and regulations.
  • Investigate any incidents, near-misses, or safety violations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of incidents, including recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Track and analyze incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs tailored to different roles within the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure employees understand proper procedures for PPE use, hazardous materials handling, equipment operation, and other relevant safety protocols.
  • Foster a safety-first culture by promoting awareness and leading by example in following safety protocols.
  • Monitor facility operations for compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal, emissions, and chemical storage.
  • Assist in developing environmental policies and procedures to minimize environmental impact.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, incident reports, training logs, and safety meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local and federal regulations.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes and make necessary adjustments to safety protocols.

Profile

The ideal Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 1-5+ years of experience in an EHS role, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
    • Proficiency in job hazard analysis and risk assessment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and cross-department collaboration.
    • Analytical skills for incident investigation and report preparation.

Job Offer

The successful Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:

  • Base Salary of $60,000-$90,000 depending on experience
  • PTO
