Job Description:Engineering Services (E.S.) is a department within Ferrovial Construction charged with providing full-service engineering and design services for our megaprojects in North America. E.S. manages the design of highways, railways, tunnels, transit infrastructures, and airports in the U.S. and Canada. With its North American operations headquartered in Austin, Texas, Ferrovial Construction has managed nearly $18 billion in design-build construction since 2006, representing some of the largest, most complex transportation infrastructure projects in the U.S. and Canada. Currently, Ferrovial Construction is managing five major highway construction projects in Georgia, Texas, and Virginia.
Job Overview: As an Environmental Intern, you will work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design & Build Projects across the US and Canada geography for either the bidding phase or the construction phase. You will have the opportunity to learn and improve the Company standards for Environmental design. You will become part of a team that supports all parts of the Environmental design and permitting. You will also be collaborating with other Ferrovial Departments, being exposed to construction Means & Methods, and Estimating, increasing your expertise in construction-focused environmental permitting and design. Under the supervision and mentoring of the Ferrovial Construction US Engineering Services, you will have the technical support and all the resources to develop and advance your career by participating in large-scale projects in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities and Duties: Please be sure to include the following information listed below
- Prepare proposal submissions and qualification packages by compiling, writing, editing, and proofreading technical and environmental content.
- Coordinate with other team members and provide environmental guidance during the proposal phase.
- Establish environmental requirements, scheduling limitations and providing an environmental risk assessment during a Tender phase of a project.
- Track completeness and compliance with proposal environmental requirements and processes.
- Provide technical and environmental writing support to the proposal team.
- Participate in final review meetings and production of final documents for submission and delivery in accordance with all timelines and deadlines.
- Create and maintain up to date proposal materials, resumes, profiles, and technical data.
- Research and write technical reports on potential opportunities to provide updates and recommendations to senior management regarding project pursuits.
- Provide environmental support to Projects that are under construction by assisting the environmental coordinator/manager in charge.
Qualifications: Please be sure it includes the following information listed below (if applicable)
- Currently working towards Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Urban & Regional Planning, Construction Management, Physical Geography or a related science.
- Knowledge and understanding of NEPA environmental compliance requirements/process.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe/Nuance pdf, PowerPoint, GIS and/or MicroStation.
- Ability to facilitate use of GIS for analysis purposes is preferable
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing/communication skill plus attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism.
