Compensation: USD $110,000 - $125,000

Position Summary:

As an Environmental Manager, you will lead the plant's environmental program in alignment with federal and state regulations, ensuring compliance and fostering best practices. This role includes developing strategies to meet environmental targets, deploying monitoring systems, and engaging with regulatory and community stakeholders. You will also oversee the waste-derived fuels system at the location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate site environmental performance, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as corporate contact for regulatory and community environmental matters.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and assist with information requests.
  • Manage air quality reports, renewals, and stack testing activities.
  • Oversee training and certification efforts, working closely with the Waste Fuels and Environmental Affairs managers.
  • Obtain and maintain relevant licenses and certifications, including those related to wastewater and operator compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in the environmental field (cement, mining, or related industries preferred)
  • Proven experience working with regulatory agencies
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, leadership, and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of environmental laws and regulations relevant to a cement manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills and Certifications (bold indicates required):

  • Environmental Engineering
  • Experience liaising with regulatory agencies
  • Team leadership experience
