The incumbent will effectively communicate with, motivate, train, and evaluate on direct work performance and is responsible for time and attendance of subordinates within the Potable Water Compliance Assurance Program.

Your Specific Responsibilities: - Advises the Program Administrator, District Director, Assistant District Director, and Branch Administrator concerning on-going matters.
- Leads team to meet Regulatory objectives and informs district leadership of deficiencies and challenges that may prevent meeting objectives as soon as possible when they become apparent.
- Maintains employee resources by recruiting, ensuring employees are trained, communicating job expectations; coaching and counseling; monitoring and appraising job performance.
- Measures performance, conducts performance evaluations, provides feedback and takes necessary actions to correct poor performance issues.
- Develops staff technical expertise in the regulated industry.
- Develops, and mentors staff for leadership opportunities.
- Develops and promotes a positive attitude of public service and customer focus within the section.
- Consistently fosters and supports teamwork, innovation, and process improvements that impact operations within the District and/or Department.
- Fosters a positive image of the section and the department within the regulated community, and general public.
- Coordinates activities for multiple regulatory areas aimed at assisting the regulated community with understanding and complying with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Directs the review of engineering plans and reports, specifications, applications and supporting data.
- Directs the review of files for test results, annual reports, operational problems, inspection reports and compliance history as required.
- Assures all documents are consistent with Department rules, regulations and guidance memorandums and federal regulations, as required.
- Effectively plan and manage workloads to achieve Regulatory objectives for each program area and ensure that the work is distributed to allow staff to perform at optimal levels.
- Collaborate and coordinate with peers to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support each section/program objectives.
- Reviews and responds to inquiries and requests for information.
- Promotes outreach to educate the public and regulated community.
- Conducts facility/site inspections as required.
- Participates in public meetings and workshops to discuss point source matters, as needed.
- Ensures safety awareness among program staff.
- Attends, or ensures attendance at, applicable and/or required trainings, workshops, teleconferences, meetings, and seminars.
The incumbent of this position has been identified as emergency Mission Essential Personnel and, in that capacity, may be required, on short notice, to perform duties and travel in support of emergency efforts. All leave approved is subject to recall in the occurrence of a major event. Leave should be coordinated with backup/cross-trained staff and approved by management to ensure that department essential functions can be performed, if required. This position may be placed On-Call to remain available to perform essential duties.Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to perform field inspections.Minimum Qualifications - Valid Driver's License and ability to travel as needed.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; and three years of verifiable related experience; or Any combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described above, for a total of 7 years.
- Upon appointment must complete OSHA 24-hour HAZWOPER certification and OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher annually thereafter.
- Pursuant to sections 110.1127 and 435.04, Florida Statutes, and DEP Directive 422, Background Investigation, is required to successfully complete a background and fingerprint check.
