With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis seeks Environmental Oversight Manager to join the team in Selma, CA to oversee the Design-Builder's environmental program, including minimization, avoidance and mitigation measures, project design features, and conservation and mitigation plans.Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA.As the Environmental Oversight Manager, you will contribute to the integration of environmental considerations throughout the design, permitting, and construction phases of the program. Your efforts will help ensure that the project meets the required environmental standards, mitigates potential impacts, and complies with relevant regulations and commitments.Role Accountabilities:Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards. Obtain necessary permits and manage relationships with regulatory agencies.Develop, implement, and update the project's Environmental Management Plan (EMP). Ensure the plan is integrated into all phases of the project and is adhered to by all contractors and subcontractors.Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and audits to identify potential risks and issues. Propose mitigation strategies to address any identified environmental concerns.Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental policies. Prepare and submit regular environmental reports and updates to project stakeholders and regulatory bodies.Develop and deliver training programs for project staff and contractors on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.Establish and manage procedures for responding to environmental emergencies, such as spills or leaks. Coordinate with emergency response teams and ensure timely and effective resolution of incidents.Promote and implement sustainability practices within the project, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation.Engage with local communities, environmental groups, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide information about the project's environmental management efforts.Maintain comprehensive records of environmental compliance activities, inspections, and incidents. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for audits and reviews.Required Qualifications:10+ years of recent experience in environmental management, preferably in large-scale construction projects or rail infrastructure.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biology, Science, or related field.Key Skills and Attributes:Experience managing permitting and environmental compliance issues (preferably in California)Knowledge of the environmental regulations and permits relevant to the Project.Familiarity with engineering plans and other technical documents, with a background in cultural or biological resource.Maintain accurate daily reports of construction site activity, field measurement for progress payment and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule, and budget status.Take appropriate action in all situations.Working knowledge of and the ability to follow and apply the information contained in directives and policies.Proficiency in the use of Excel, Microsoft Word and other engineer related computer programs and software.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
