In this role, you'll work closely with our multi-discipline team to provide permitting support on a variety of federal civil works and environmental projects in the region.In the problem solving business, it helps to be restlessly curious to deliver community change.Our vision is to ensure energy, water and urbanization are made sustainable for generations to come. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
  • Creating, developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Leading all aspects of NEPA environmental document development.
  • Leading internal and external coordination with project team members, including other discipline areas involved with the project
  • Conducting / directing research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning and formulating recommendations
  • Leading planning processes and technical solutions that best meet the project needs
  • Creating project presentation materials, concepts, graphics, and reports to the client and community groups.
  • Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation including public meetings/hearings/community workshops
  • Coordinating and participating in the preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to RFP's for projects
  • Leading interactions with Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Protection Agency, Fish and Wildlife Services, National Marine Fisheries Services, and other Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Mentoring & assisting staff in career development
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What you will bring to the team:
  • Master's degree in Environmental or Biological Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, or related field
  • American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP), Professional Geologist (PG) / Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)
  • 12 years relevant experience with 2 years of successfully managing projects
  • Knowledgeable in Clean Water Act Sections 401 and 404, Rivers and Harbors Act Section 10, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act Section 103, and National Historic Preservation Act Section 106
  • Experience managing, directing, and mentoring staff
  • Progressive experience in client relationship development/management and business development with strong client relationships considered a strong differentiator
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
  • Ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner; must have strong technical writing skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
