Job Summary

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Our Sacramento, California office is on the lookout for a dynamic Mid-level Environmental Planner to join our team! Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, you'll dive into a variety of exciting tasks - from determining the course of action and developing project objectives to crafting project scopes, budgets, and managing sub-consultant contracts. You'll play a key role in assessing environmental planning and permitting issues and conducting field investigations and research for our diverse range of projects.

As an Environmental Planner, you'll interact directly with clients to help them achieve their environmental documentation goals, develop and implement strategies for project delivery, and work closely with resource agencies to navigate environmental regulations. You'll participate on multidisciplinary teams in conducting research, preparing technical documents, delivering comprehensive reports, and managing project schedules and budgets. Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Supporting all aspects of a transportation project, including technical approach, and managing subcontractor work, with support from senior staff.

* Supporting and coordinating the preparation of project deliverables (reports, presentations, technical memoranda) with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical accuracy.

* Coordination with regulatory agency staff in report and permit application preparation.

* Organizing meetings (such as preparing agendas, developing and presenting meeting content, and preparing summaries).

* Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff.

* Authoring and reviewing analytical sections of environmental documents.

* Contributing to business development efforts and writing proposals for new business.

* Attend monthly teleconferences, annual workshops, and other meetings or seminars to acquire and enhance knowledge, skills and abilities required to meet program goals and objectives.

* Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

* Bachelor's degree in urban planning, environmental planning, environmental policy or sciences, or related field required, MS preferred.

* 5 - 10 years of experience, preferably in environmental consulting or working for a federal/state environmental agency.

* 3+ years of experience working with and managing complex documents related to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

* Candidate should be familiar with municipal, state, and federal rules and regulations to assist in environmental documentation, project permitting and regulatory compliance.

* Expertise with local government/transportation projects.

* Experience preparing CEQA and NEPA documents and managing or assisting management of project teams.

* Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

* Strong organizational and time management skills.

* Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of?$78,000 - $138,000 annually for this position and local market.
