A DAY IN THE LIFEEnthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance. Our Wilmington, NC facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Project Manager AssistantThe PMA will be responsible for assisting with login, storage, and verification of client samples, verification of chains of custody and client notifications of discrepancies. You'll ideally need at least one year of experience in a laboratory environment and welcome the opportunity to make an impact from day one. As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
  • Assists with login, storage, and verification of client samples; verifies chains of custody and notifies client of discrepancies
  • Reviews method selections, client protocols, and analyte lists to ensure jobs are set up correctly
  • Works directly with project managers, group leaders, and clients
  • General administrative project support such as keeping detailed project notes and records, as well as organization and maintenance of project data files (quote, chain of custody, emails regarding the job, job y plan/protocol, lab instructions, etc.)
  • Assists with project tracking and interlaboratory communication
  • Assists project manager in proactively notifying clients of problems, late data, etc.
  • Assists with obtaining information for payment and following up on unpaid invoices
  • Sit in on client calls and meetings (when necessary)
  • Other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE & SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • BS/BA in an analytical science or equivalent experience in analytical/environmental laboratory
  • 1+ years of environmental-related experience including demonstrated progress in managing projects preferred
Preferred Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid organization and time/project management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
