Raba Kistner is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist I to join our team one of our office locations across Texas in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Conroe, or Houston. The Environmental Scientist I (ESI) responsibilities encompass supporting and contributing to a successful Environmental Compliance Service Line through execution of primarily air permitting and reporting project tasks under the supervision or guidance of a Project Manager. Other responsibilities include:

* Interpret technical process information and prepare air-related deliverables for clients.

* Prepare or assist with preparation of air registrations, permits and other submittals required by federal, state, or local agencies.

* Participate in or lead environmental audits.

* Conduct ambient air monitoring.

* Coordinate activities of subcontractors (e.g. stack testing) on assigned projects.

* Prepare air emissions inventories.

* Evaluate complex manufacturing and chemical processes to identify and inventory emission sources.

* Research and interpret State, Federal and local regulations for the purpose of determining applicability.

* Perform or assist with the performance of air dispersion modeling using Screen or AERMOD platforms.

* Interact with clients as necessary during the performance of work tasks.

* Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

* A Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science/engineering, chemistry, geology, biology or related field

* 0 - 2 Years applicable experience

* Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and meet company's auto insurability requirements.

* Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher)

Employee's applicable experience shall include at least two (2) of the below:

* Independently completing entire applications for air permits by rule or permit exemptions.

* Independently completing air emissions inventories.

* Independently executing or supporting the execution of minor New Source Review air permits.

Practical experience operating geographic data collection and other scientific data collection equipment. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner and skillfully gather and analyze information. Proven experience working on multiple projects, producing accurate information while meeting deadlines. Must be able to work well with all levels of people within the organization and outside of the company. Ability to work independently on a job site.

Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc. Ability to effectively communicate information both written and oral and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

Work environment regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions (exposure to outdoor heat, cold or inclement weather).

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
