Our client is looking for a candidate to provide support to the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response (HEER) Office. The term of this position may be extended. Job responsibilities may include: Managing projects of varying size and complexity. Field audits and inspections for various sites, including evaluating whether site activities are in compliance with the EHMP or Construction EHMP on file with the HEER Office Organizing and reviewing data. Preparing and conducting technical reviews of reports. Coordinating/Planning field investigations of contaminated sites Planning and/or performing multi-media sampling, including soil (multi-increment (MI)) sampling, groundwater and surface water sampling, and soil gas sampling on sites with potentially hazardous substances. Bachelors Degree in environmental sciences or physical sciences (e. g., geology, biology hydrology, toxicology, health physics). 3-5 years of scientific, environmental engineering or environmental consulting work experience performing:o Writing and reviewing submittals to the DOH HEER Officeo Familiarity with the HEER Office program - TGM, SAPs, EHMPs, C-EHMPs, iHEER, site inspections for compliance, etc. o Conducting site investigationso Field experience conducting multi-media sampling (groundwater, soil, and soil gas)o Managing projects and clientso Preparing technical reports (phase I phase II ESAs, and sampling/analysis plans Field exposure on federal and state regulatory programs
