As an Environmental Scientist, you will work under the direction of a project manager to perform both office and field work related to environmental assessments, compliance, and permitting projects. Additionally, you will support our industrial hygiene team in various capacities.
Your Day-to-Day:
* Conduct Environmental Assessments: Perform fieldwork and reporting for environmental assessments, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs and Brownfields assessments.
* Oversee Installations and Sampling: Oversee soil borings, monitoring wells, and vapor point installations; collect and analyze groundwater, vapor, and soil/sediment samples.
* Industrial Hygiene Assessments: Perform fieldwork, assessments, and reporting for industrial hygiene contaminants and hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, PCBs, mercury, and indoor air quality.
* Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance through stormwater sampling and underground storage tank (UST) assessments and investigations.
* Data Recording and Reporting: Record and interpret data, compare results to regulations, and prepare standard environmental reports.
What You Bring:
* A Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, geology, chemistry or related field
* 2+ years of experience in a related field
* Basic technical writing skills at the college level
* OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
* Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
* Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
* Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
* Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
