Temporary Position: 3:30PM - 12:00AM; rotating weekends/holiday schedule
UnityPoint Health - Marshalltown is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Associate to join our team temporarily. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. Under the direction of an Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager, you will provide professional cleaning services and assist with laundry distribution throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional cleaning services throughout the hospital, which includes: disinfecting patient rooms, exam rooms and public restrooms; sweeping/mopping/vacuuming corridors and stairwells, lounge areas, classrooms and offices in accordance with standard operating procedures of the department.
- Promptly provide cleaning services to any area of the hospital if requested by the Environmental Services Manager/Supervisor/Lead or other hospital personnel to ensure patient care.
- Perform other key job functions as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager and Supervisors.
- Perform laundry tasks as needed/requested such as: fill laundry carts with clean linen; distribute linen throughout the hospital; empty dirty linen from soiled utility rooms; assist with washing/drying soiled/clean linen as needed; aid in providing accurate par levels in each department.
- Perform other duties as assigned: cleaning carpets, burnishing floors, stripping/finishing hard surface floors, picking up trash around the building, washing windows, etc.
Qualifications:
Required:
General housekeeping knowledge
Ability to read, write and understand English
Must be able to communicate effectively and display a positive attitude towards coworkers, staff, visitors and patients.
Preferred:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Six months experience in floor finishing/scrubbing and carpet cleaning.
