MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or universityor
Six (6) months of experience in environmental protection, regulation, or health; one of the physical or natural sciences; agriculture; or engineering.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent of this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of 60L-36, F.A.C.
NOTES:
Successful applicants must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.

JOB DUTIES:
Maintains working knowledge of 5E-2, & 5E-9, Florida Administrative Code as related to Aldicarb permitting.
Reviews applications for pesticide related permits, determines if requirements have been met, and issues permits as appropriate.
Maintains an online database of pesticide permit information. Assists users with the online and paper permitting process.
Prepares and mails and/or emails correspondence and information as needed relative to the permitting program.
Works with the Bureau of Scientific Evaluation & Technical Assistance Hydrologist and Soil Scientist to identify restricted soils, well setbacks and reviews restricted areas limiting pesticide applications.
Answers inquiries from public registrants and applicants regarding permitting. This includes the status of permits and submission of applications. Correspondence may be via telephone, email, or via the Department's Pesticide Use Permitting System.
Maintains working knowledge of Chapter 487 Florida Statutes (F.S.) Rules 5E-9 & 5E-2 Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.)., Chapter 482 (F.S. Rule 5E-14 F.A.C. & Chapter 388 F.S., Rule 5E-13 F.A.C.
Serves as a versatile team member who is cross-trained in all program processes. Maintains working knowledge of all program operations and processes. Reviews and monitors SOPs for the program and facilitates updates as needed with program staff.
Answers inquiries from the public and applications regarding licensure.
Maintains and updates the bureau's internal and external facing pesticide notification databases as needed. Compile data for permit records as requested.
Performs other duties as required.
