POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining Environmental Health & Safety compliance at the Wynnewood Refinery (WRC) and other facilities with active remediation (CRRM, CRT, and CRCT). The primary role will be to assist with maintenance and operation of environmental remediation systems, groundwater and soil sampling events (typically semi-annually), and all other necessary environmental operations (including emergency response). This includes ensuring compliance with all EPA, KDHE, and ODEQ approved sampling plans, remediation work plans, and quality assurance plans. The employee will also assist with day-to-day operations at WRC, including system operation checks, troubleshooting and cleaning equipment, handling raw materials during recovery efforts (typically petroleum oil-based materials), and any requested maintenance activities. Additionally, they will assist with recordkeeping responsibilities, which includes data entry of necessary environmental data for monthly reporting. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. Degree in Environmental Science or related field or commensurate experience desired but not required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- With BA/BS degree, 0-2 years of direct related experience required; without degree, minimum of 2 years
- Computer experience with Excel and Word is required to adapt spreadsheets for data management.
- Ability to read, understand, and teach others on technical material: groundwater sampling procedures, regulatory compliance procedures, manufacturer's product and equipment manuals and the like
- Ability to enter technical data into web-based software for technical analysis
- Ability to search for viable data, interpret and analyze data and present results in various reporting formats
- Demonstrated ability to solve and reason problems, communicate cause and effects, follow and give instructions on a daily basis
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adjust schedule to meet business demands
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage and maintain remediation systems in accordance with all EPA approved work plan requirements. Maintain operating records. Perform trouble-shooting exercises and make or supervise an outside contractor in making all necessary repairs. Communicate system status to supervisor on a daily basis.
- Collect NPDES and groundwater samples and conduct water level, free product, and total depth measurements at intervals specified in approved work plans. Implement monthly manual free product recovery and long-term recovery testing as needed in accordance with approved work plans.
- Data entry of groundwater elevation and LNAPL recovery measurements on a periodic basis.
- Conduct facility maintenance and housekeeping projects as necessary.
- Assist management with developing and updating CVR policy and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and company expectations

- Maintain and document assigned activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for subject, timeliness, and frequency.
- Maintain facility assets to eliminate workplace hazards and support the business function of the terminal
- Establish and maintain a high level of customer service with internal clients, including employees, supervisors, and facility management.
