Job Description:

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Environmental Technical Specialist to work in our Environmental Operations Support department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off. Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position. You will report to the manager for Environmental Operations Support.

You will support facilities, operations and R&D programs in the identification and implementation of environmental requirements to ensure compliance with applicable rules which may include support of regulatory interpretations, resolution of potential or actual compliance issues, identification of required permits, collection of samples, and gathering and reporting of data that must be collected and reported by regulation.

Responsibilities Include:

* Provide environmental technical support to the ES&S management team working with their staffs on wide range of work activities in multiple environmental disciplines, e.g., Air, Water, waste, etc.

* Work directly with ES&S Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs) and interfacing with numerous other organizations for programmatic development, implementation of regulatory requirements and complex issues resolution.

* Work assignments for this position will be made by any one of the four department managers within ES&S.

* Conflict with prioritization of those assignments will be the responsibility of the ES&S Director or the Deputy Director to resolve.

* Maintain several ES&S technical databases and ensure information is accurate and generated periodic technical report.

* Serve as a POC in charge of responding to Ad Hoc informational requests from internal and external customers and delegate to appropriate ES&S personnel.

* Interact with ES&S management team and technical leads to maintain the ES&S website.

* Identify and implement environmental and associated radiological requirements to ensure compliance with DOE Orders, Federal and State regulations, and various standards (i.e., ANSI, ISO 14001, NESHAP, etc. and DOE Directives, Guides, and Handbooks).

* Support implementation of environmental policies, procedures, and processes to ensure INL work scope is compliant.

* Monitor and evaluate implementation of environmental requirements using assessments and/or surveillance.

* Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of short and long-term plans to achieve annual goals, objectives, and work standards focused on achieving INL's mission and assigned priorities.

* May assess environmental risk and develop required regulatory documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

* Level 1: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, environmental policy, technology, or other related fields.

* Level 2: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, environmental policy, technology, or other related fields and 2 years relevant experience.

Job Information:

* The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($63,528 - $130,284) / Level 2 ($75,804 - $155,496). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
