Job Description:
Principal Duties: We are searching for a certified Epic Report Writer in clinical domains for a 3-6 month contract with the possibility of converting to permanent position based on performance. It is a bonus if this person is certified in a clinical domain as an application analyst as well. The report writer will be responsible for developing sophisticated reports and visualizations within the Cogito suite of tools in reporting. This includes the ability to create Reporting Workbench reports, Radar Dashboards, SQL extracts and SlicerDicer queries in Epic. It is imperative for the report writer to understand key building blocks of a report writer including building out rules and properties, using turbo charger packages, using the build wizard, running back fills, understanding registries, metrics etc.. As AI is shifting to a more predominant role in healthcare it would be a bonus if this person was familiar with predictive analytics and Generative AI in the Epic space. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and Strategy: Mentor other junior Epic Report Writers Ensure service delivery team working in one clinical domain understands complete suite of dashboards and reports Data Solution Development: Work within a service delivery team to create reports and visualizations depending on the request. Understand the problem the business is facing and come up with a solution to the problem using data and analytics. Work on any tasks pertaining to Nova Notes/upgrades. Data Governance and Quality: Establish and enforce data governance practices and standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency within the Epic EMR system. Implement data quality controls and validation processes to ensure the reliability and usability of data solutions. Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and data privacy policies. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and executives, to understand their data needs and provide guidance on data solution development. Regularly scheduled meetings with stakeholders are needed to ensure Quality Assurance. Build and maintain strong relationships with Epic representatives and user groups to stay informed about system updates and best practices. Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear and actionable insights. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED SKILLS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study. Epic Certified Clinical domain Epic Certified analyst (preferred) Analyze, provide specifications for, and write individual reports to support the many clinical/financial modules Have a clear understanding of Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, SlicerDicer and other Epic reporting tools Design SQL extracts as needed Experience with Chronicles, Clarity and Caboodle High-level SQL and relational database knowledge, including primary and foreign keys, joins, etc. Deep understanding of system build, end-user workflows, and pattern of use. Both technical skills to design and write reports, as well as operational knowledge to understand what report consumers need to see Knowledge and familiarity with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau Knowledge and familiarity with SSAS Cubes and Business Objects Webi Reporting Knowledge of registries, rules, properties, custom PAF's, build wizard, backfills Meet with application analysts (AA) and report consumers to understand reporting needs Epic BID certifications in other modules preferred
