Epic Training Director (Hybrid) Must be located in California or willing to relocate to California

Level: Director - FLSA: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the coordination and execution of Epic electronic health records (EHR) and associated third party information system training. Responsible for developing and effectively communicating training policies and procedures. Manages the role analysis process to identify and meet training needs and oversees all aspects of classroom administration for Epic-led virtual training sessions. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in IT, IT management, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems (IS), applied engineering, health information management (HIM), health informatics, nursing informatics, nursing, health science, education, business administration, healthcare, or a related field: Required

Master's Degree: Preferred

Seven years' relevant experience

Five years' leadership experience

Previous experience in leading or coordinating Epic EHR training programs, particularly in a healthcare setting

Strong knowledge of healthcare clinical and operational workflows.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leads a team in creating, organizing, and maintaining training documentation for EHR and supporting third party systems. Gathers data and analyzes training programs' progress and results.

Manages the onboarding and engagement of operational “super user leads” and leads other operational readiness activities.

Develops processes for staff members, health care providers, and managers to escalate questions and concerns about Epic class assignments and registration.

Develops a training environment strategy and coordinate refresh schedules. Ensures training aligns with regulatory and industry standards.

Fosters close working relationships with clinical and business unit leaders, physicians, senior executives, and IT managers and develops relationships with professional organizations, user groups, and industry trade groups.

Delegates and assigns work to personnel for effective utilization of their skills and to meet business needs.

Ensures all employees are sufficiently trained to carry out their duties. Evaluates employee job performance, provides feedback and complete annual performance assessments. Manages and maintains staff and resources to operate within approved budget.
