DEPT: DHT CLINICAL APPLICATIONS - Epic Willow (Pharmacy)Full-time; 8am to 5pm; 100% RemotePremier Health utilizes the EPIC system as the electronic medical record (EMR) in which patient health information is entered and stored for the purpose of securing patient clinical information and enhancing patient care. Premier Health employs multiple Epic Teams that specialize in a range of applications within the Epic EMR.The Epic Programmer Analyst Sr. for the Willow (pharmacy) team is responsible for analysis of complex workflows, advanced system configuration and development, application deployment and support, change documentation, and will educate and inform staff on EPIC functionality. The individual will anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mind-set based on a strong fundamental knowledge of their application and how it integrates with other systems. The individual will understand the organizational infrastructure and can recommend solutions that enable the enterprise to achieve its goals. These responsibilities require the individual to be a knowledge leader for their systems and/or applications. The individual delivers results across multiple teams to provide solutions for the enterprise. This position will include on call responsibilities
- Provides advanced-level programming and systems analysis support for a broad array of strategic/tactical projects as assigned.
- Participates in all areas of project life cycle, including project definition, project estimating, systems design, computer programming, systems implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation. Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of integrated hospital/corporate computer systems.
- Functionally provides technical guidance to entry- and intermediate-level programming staff
- Acts as leader and coordinator of team assignments and goals
- Has no administrative supervisory responsibility
- Is free to interact within general guidelines in a broad scope of responsibility to recommend, design, develop, and implement information systems that meet departmental objectives within functional area of responsibility
- Is required to draw upon his/her practical experience, and demonstrate development of extensive operational technical knowledge as well as advanced knowledge in developing business relationships and partnerships
- Demonstrates the ability to integrate advanced technical skills with knowledge of the business to provide effective information systems solutions
- Demonstrates the ability to handle all activities of developing an information system, from initial project review and scope definition to final systems implementation, with only minor supervision and direction
- Will respond to the software malfunctions of assigned systems and provide support and assistance to operations and users to correct and avoid future recurrence of production application problems
Essential Duties & Functions:Responsible for the processing and implementation of approved change requests within established service level agreements.Responds to assigned system incidents, providing support and assistance to all users to correct and avoid recurrence of problems.Works as a team member or leader on projects as well as provides estimates for complex work efforts. Dimensions of project assignments range from simple stand-alone applications to large projects. Provides back-up assistance to other team members and shares knowledge/education with fellow team members.Works independently with minimal supervision.Researches, learns and understands the Premier Health IT policies, procedures and practices, especially related to change management, incident handling and service level agreements.Demonstrates progressive growth in capabilities, productivity, and delivery as capability and capacity develops. Manages competing prioritizes, delivers and meets organizational goals.Delivers solutions to complex business problems that are cost-effective and produce high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.Leads and mentors other programmer analysts in the development, implementation, and problem resolution of an application. This is accomplished through planning, scheduling, assigning, coordinating, and reviewing tasks performed by team members. May provide input to the yearly performance evaluation of staff.Evaluates software and hardware products and make recommendations for improving operations or processes.Typical work hours are M-F 8am-5pm and may vary based operational need. May also be required to participate in a 24 x 7 on-call support rotation to meet the critical clinical and business needs of the organization.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
- Associates degree w/6+ years job experience & 3 years Epic experienceor
- Bachelor's degree w/4+ years job experience & 2 years Epic experience
- IT area of study or related area required. Related areas of study include Nursing, Medical Technology, Radiology, Mathematics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Laboratory, Pharmacy, or Medicine. Licensure: Epic Willow certification required within 6 months of employment start dateCertification: Project Management Certification is preferred Experience: Pharmaceutical experience, such as pharmacy technician. Requires knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, and good analytical and documentation skills
