Responsibilities Location: Kinston NC Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Perform disassembly and assembly of complex machinery necessary to accomplish assignment to maintain flow of operations. Perform root/cause analysis in support of reliability processes, and collaborate with vendors, engineering, customers, other crafts, and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action. Must be proficient maintaining, repairing, programing, and troubleshooting industrial PC's, CNC's, and PLC's. PLC programming knowledge and experience with ladder logic, function block and statement list. Must have a working knowledge of machine geometry / alignment using lasers and other precision measuring tools. Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings. Working knowledge of industrial electronics, pneumatics, mechanics, hydraulics, and structural maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Ability to operate computers, maintenance diagnostic equipment, including analog and digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, pyrometers, photo-tachometer, ultrasonic leak detectors, vibration analysis, thermography etc. Ability to work in confined areas and high places. Experience with machine assembly, machine builds, installations, mechanical, general machine shop tools, electrical wiring, bearings, and alignment techniques. Excellent analytical skills and a demonstrated understanding of electrical and mechanical machine controls and drive systems. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Move and place in correct position heavy equipment, real property and installed property in accordance with established methods. Prepare machine foundations, assemble structures and install floor and overhead conveying equipment. Accomplish all necessary rigging. The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions including the following: 1. Obtain and deliver material and equipment necessary to support plant maintenance and repair. 2. Work from diagrams, prints, specifications or verbal orders. 3. Use hand tools, powered tools and shop equipment. 4. Perform disassembly and assembly operations necessary to accomplish assignment. 5. Enter and retrieve data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and order parts required to accomplish the tasks (except as relates to inventory, store, record, issue and any other duties related to material support technician.) In addition, each employee may be asked, on occasion, to complete other duties and responsibilities as required by Spirit leadership. Training and certification will be provided for the additional work when required.
