Job Title: Equipment ManagerLocation: Shelocta, PACompany: West Penn Energy ServicesJob Type: Full-Time, Daytime HoursSchedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMJob Overview:West Penn Energy Services is seeking an experienced Equipment Manager with a strong mechanical background and expertise in managing heavy equipment, light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, semi-trucks, and trailers. The Equipment Manager will oversee the maintenance and operation of our fleet, ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition, while managing mechanics, shop workflow, inventory, and equipment scheduling.Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Management: Oversee and maintain all company equipment, ranging from light-duty vehicles to heavy equipment, semi-trucks, and heavy haul trailers. Ensure equipment is serviced, repaired, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards.
- Mechanical Supervision: Manage a team of mechanics, prioritize and delegate work orders, and ensure timely repairs and routine maintenance.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage shop supplies needed for repairs. Replenish inventory as necessary to avoid shortages and downtime.
- Equipment Assessment: Monitor equipment performance to determine whether repairs or replacement are necessary, evaluating the value and remaining life of each asset.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain a schedule for routine services, inspections, and registration renewals. Ensure all equipment is operating under compliant and safe conditions.
- Software Utilization: Track equipment services and inspections using Fleetio and Geotab software. Identify and diagnose equipment faults remotely to assist mechanics and drivers.
- Vehicle Setup: Set up new vehicles and equipment with necessary company badging and safety protocols to meet organizational standards.
- Collaboration: Interface with West Penn Heavy Haul to coordinate shared services, resources, and equipment between companies.
- Compliance: Ensure all vehicles and equipment adhere to safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical background with knowledge of heavy equipment, semi-trucks, trailers, and light-duty vehicles.
- Proven experience managing equipment and fleet operations, including scheduling and workflow management.
- Experience with inventory management, including shop supplies and replenishment.
- Familiarity with Fleetio, Geotab, Samsara, and VisionLink systems for tracking and diagnostics.
- Demonstrated ability to determine repair vs. liquidation decisions based on equipment value and lifespan.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage and direct a team of mechanics.
- Experience with compliance and safety protocols related to equipment management.
- Prior experience in the energy or construction industries.
