DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will provide support to the forest maintenance supervisors, assistant managers, and the district manager in various activities related to maintenance, forest fire management, recreational programming, and overall district management. Your responsibilities will include operating equipment with a gross vehicle weight of up to 32,000 pounds, which necessitates holding a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Additionally, you will engage in equipment and tool maintenance, perform manual labor when not operating machinery, and may take on a leadership role to guide other staff members in their tasks. Your work experience will be enriched through hands-on involvement in these activities, allowing you to develop practical skills in equipment operation and maintenance. You may also be required to assist in other maintenance divisions within the district on a temporary basis, depending on operational needs. This flexibility will enhance your understanding of the various functions within the district. You will report directly to the forest maintenance supervisor of the regeneration maintenance crew, ensuring that your contributions align with the team's objectives and the overall goals of the district. - This is a seasonal, full-time position without benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee is placed on leave without pay.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
