Summary
Performs maintenance and transportation of City of Temple Events equipment, as well as general duties assigned by the parks department.
Essential duties and responsibilities
* Transports event stages and other related assets
* Responsible for the setup and breakdown of equipment, as well as working City events
* Operates heavy equipment to include a backhoe, skid steer, and tractor
* Assists with construction and repairs for event related items to include ticket booths, storage containers, etc.
* Obtains prices and purchases materials needed to complete projects and assignments
* Prepares daily assignments for staff, tracks labor with appropriate software
* Performs required maintenance at City owned event facilities
* Assists with other assignments such as playground construction, playground maintenance, shade shelter maintenance, welding, wood working and all other general park and facility items
* Performs daily maintenance checks on all equipment used, maintains records and work orders
* Uses hand tools and equipment for related tasks
* Follows all city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment
Certificates, Licenses, and registrations
* Valid Class A CDL
