Job Description:
Equipment Operator IIStarting Hourly Rate: $18.22This position involves semi-skilled manual and skilled equipment operation work in golf course maintenance. Responsible for watering greens, and tees; maintain sand traps; and change cups on greens and tee markers. Mow turf with sophisticated golf maintenance equipment and pick up debris, leaves, and broken tree limbs. Perform related work as required. Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Greenskeeper. This position requires the usage of additional equipment not required in the level I position including loaders, aerators, large mowing equipment. Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow oral and written instructions without close supervision
  • Skill in the use of hand and mechanical tools and equipment is necessary
  • Experience in operating backhoes, loaders and other heavy equipment
  • Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school, and some experience in grounds keeping or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the proper use and operation of equipment used in golf course maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude and past experience as large equipment operator (such as large trucks, tractors, mower, golf course equipment, etc.).
