Operate haul rig with trailer loaded with wide loads. Act as backup crew leader during his absence and supervise 3-5 crew members. Work schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., nights and weekends as required, on-call every third week. Essential Functions
- Integral member of a 5 man construction crew.
- At times will be performing manual labor to help install/repair water and sewer systems.
- Drive and load dump trucks as required.
- Operate bull dozer to clear utility right of ways (ROW) and demo condemned structures.
- Operate backhoe or track hoe excavating ditch lines for sewer or water utility construction/repair.
- Must be able to operate equipment in/around other underground utilities in a safe manner.
- Operate, inspect and load equipment/materials in a safe manner on a trailer.
- Inspect and drive a haul truck with an oversized load.
- Must be able to understand and follow directions and instructions.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time while operating equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry 80-lbs.
- Must be able to safely climb onto equipment, balance, stoop, bend and crouch.
- Must be able to use and operate various hand tools; shovels, rakes, saws, hammers, ratchets and sockets.
- Must be able to operate various gas powered saws, chain saws, hydraulic or electric pumps.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, plus at least three (3) years of job-related experience. Must be able to operate various hand and gas-powered tools (hammer, ratchets, saws, electric pumps, etc.) Must possess a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License, with air brake endorsement and a clear driving record.
