Thomann's extensive experience has kept the paving contractor in business for almost 100 years. The Company's primary focus is on commercial and industrial paving and site work projects in both the private and public sector. We specialize in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, seal coating, crack sealing, drain work, and site work, which includes a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. We are currently searching for Equipment Operators to join the team! We have an immediate need for safety-minded operators to perform general labor work which may include machine operation of asphalt paving and concrete equipment as well as transportation of materials to work sites and other duties as assigned. Anyone with experience operating PAVERS, ROLLERS, SKIDSTEERS and SCREEDS are highly encouraged to apply!!!Essential Functions
- Understand and execute paving and concrete procedures while following instructions to meet with specifications of the project.
- Safe equipment operation used to assist in preparing and finishing job sites
- Concrete finishing which includes setting forms, tearing out and grading
- Finish surfaces by smoothing and tamping asphalt material to the proper grad and thickness
- Job site preparation which includes general labor work, the understanding of grades, efficient time management, and the prevention of possible hazards
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis job operates primarily in an outdoor work environment, in all weather conditions.Physical DemandsThe employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to push, pull, move and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs. Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Class A or B CDL license is a plus
- Previous grading and machine operating experience, specifically a skid-steer
- Previous experience with fine grading and concrete work is preferred.
- OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred but not required
