We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team.. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, primarily forklifts, to facilitate the movement and processing of scrap materials. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

What You Will Do

• Operate forklifts to dump scrap into roll-offs, trailers, or compactors according to material grades.
• Load trailers to specified weights and replace full trailers from bays.
• Drive trailers across scales and refuel trucks at local gas stations.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections, fueling, and daily lubrication of equipment.
• Complete shipping documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and assist with sorting duties as assigned.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.

Qualifications:

What We Look For

• Must possess or obtain forklift license.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to solve problems independently.
• Capability to perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.
• Ability to perform housekeeping responsibilities such as shoveling and sweeping.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• High school diploma or GED.

REQUIRED:

• Must have or be willing to obtain Class A - Commercial Driver's License

NICE TO HAVES:

• Previous knowledge of scrap materials handling.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
