The City of Nashua is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Division of Public Works in the Solid Waste Department as an Equipment Operator, Landfill. Take your career to the next level with us as opportunities for growth and development await!

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the operation of trash compactors, off-road dump trucks, loaders, compost machines, road graders, bull dozers, water trucks, backhoes, collection equipment and any piece of City or rental equipment in use at the Solid Waste Department or for snow removal. This position is also responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance, including oil changes, fueling, and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 4, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $29.52.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma or certified equivalent is required

* A minimum of one year relevant work experience

* A valid CDL-B driver's license is required

* Must possess a NHDES Solid Waste Operator certificate (or obtain within a year)
