What You'll Do:

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.

Operate Heavy Equipment. Operate hydraulic rock breaking and mechanically controlled mobile equipment. This position may also work with but not limited to Front End Loader, Dozer, Haul Truck, Motor-Grader, Excavator, Drills, and Water Truck.

Travel. Travel to multiple locations to operate rock breaking equipment.

Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation.

Maintain Equipment. Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. Ensure efficient and safe component operation.

Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings. Monitor the plant and operations and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need:

Education. High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience. Some experience in the construction/mining/concrete/cement industry preferred.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred. Strong mechanical skills preferred. Must have the ability to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Communication. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English including reading and writing.

License. Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record required.
