Description Burns & McDonnell company is looking for a Revit Designer to join a team of professionals who work on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects creating world-class designs for Capital Equipment installations in a government manufacturing facility. Successful candidates will perform various phases of planning, site evaluations, and preparation of construction documentation and plans as part of project teams. Will work primarily modeling manufacturing equipment and creating equipment layouts based on information provided by each project. Description:
- Plan and develop drawings for production work including design equipment layouts of substantial variety and complexity.
- Produce complete project deliverable drawings and models from verbal or written descriptions from the design engineer and/or client.
- Create equipment 3D models from manufacturer's cut sheets.
- Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects.
- Complete and review design drawings for quality assurance within scope, budget and schedule.
- Responsible for the revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information are stored in a logical and well-structured manner.
- Perform a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, incorporating various system components, and refining rough sketches. Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards.
- Execute basic formulas, principles and practices, and use acquired knowledge of fundamental concepts and practices.
- Perform projects tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.
- Responsible for clear and concise written and verbal communications, as it relates to the project client coordination.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field and 2 years related experience required or Associate Degree and 3 years related experience required or 4 years progressive detailing and design experience required.
- Strong understanding of design software such as Revit and AutoCAD, to develop the design deliverables (Revit experience preferred). Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
- Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
