Equipment/Shop Manager Location: Spring Lake, MI Position Available: Immediately Salary: 50-55K Position Length: Year Round Company: Spring Lake Country Club Facility Operation: Established in 1911 on the banks of Spring Lake, Spring Lake Country Club offers a challenging, but fair, layout that combines high level golf with a picturesque journey through woods and along the water. SLCC was originally designed by Tom Bendelow and underwent a restoration in 1985 by Jerry Matthews and Bruce Matthews III. The current design features four sets of tees ranging from 5,000 to 6,600 yards, creating a course fit for the scratch golfer all the way to those just venturing into the sport. With its pristine conditions and incredible views, SLCC is certain to provide a championship experience each time out on the course.

Job Description: Spring Lake Country Club is a private 18-hole golf course seeking an equipment manager to oversee our fleet of equipment. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills, and a positive attitude. They will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistants, and will be an integral part of our operation. The Equipment Manager may also be asked to assist in golf course maintenance as needed.

Requirements: Equipment Manager will be responsible for:

* Maintenance and repair of golf course maintenance equipment. This includes gasoline, diesel, electric. As well as implements, trailers, and handheld power equipment such as trimmers, blowers, saws, etc.

* Utilize a Preventative Maintenance program and keep records on repairs, orders, and other pertinent information.

* Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic system trouble and determine appropriate repair.

* Grinding and maintaining cutting reels and decks.

* Skills in fabrication, metalwork and welding are helpful.

* Accurate record keeping, parts/tool inventory, budget management and reporting.

* Ability to communicate effectively to the turf management team.

* Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and order. Maintain stock of maintenance supplies and communicate with superintendent and/or vendors to restock necessary items when needed.

* On Course inspection of equipment performance to ensure quality and consistency.

* Participation in training of staff regarding preventative maintenance, safe operation, and cleaning of equipment.

* Valid Drivers License.

* Knowledge of the game of golf a plus.

In Season (April-October) willingness to work 40 hours/week plus weekends during member tournaments. Offseason (November-March) is a maximum 40 hours/week.
