Summary
The ED equipment tech maintains responsibility for ensuring that the diverse Emergency Department equipment is maintained in functional and accessible order. The tech will work with management and emergency room personnel to best stock, store, and maintain equipment, developing processes and procedures to do so. This may include development of checklists and rounds to confirm equipment is in good working order. It will also require maintaining a good working relationship with biomed and maintenance, anesthesia supply and central storage, and other areas of Mercy where required. A pro-active approach to equipment maintenance is expected, with recognition that new equipment and new understanding can spur the need for new processes.
Under supervision of registered nurse, performs duties related to preparing operating rooms for surgery. The ED Equipment Technician applies the principles of growth and development when assessing and interpreting patient information, and planning and implementing individualized care based on the age-related needs of the adolescent, adult, geriatric patient and their families.
Requirements
* Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
* Heart saver level CPR Certification required
