Job Description:

The candidate will join a growing asset management firm and be responsible for a variety of portfolio administration responsibilities. The candidate will become part of our Chicago-based Equity Operations Team, working with our Senior Portfolio Administrator and our Trader, overseen by the Head of Operations in RAM's New York City home office. This role is hybrid between our Chicago Loop office location and remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify portfolio positions prior to trade execution and monitor trades to ensure efficient settlement
  • Accurately book trades to internal systems
  • Post income and corporate actions within client portfolios
  • Utilize portfolio accounting systems to calculate performance and reconcile any differences
  • Resolve differences between internal and external records daily
  • Prepare client reporting and follow up on any client questions
  • Complete onboarding of new accounts and provide ongoing maintenance
  • Enter proxy voting instructions via third-party sites after managing internal vote decision process
  • Prepare internal reporting and gather data for compliance review
  • Understand our end-to-end infrastructure in order to help trouble-shoot client issues
  • Manage cyclical periods of higher volume work such as at quarter-end
  • Critically analyze information and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Share your knowledge and become a part of the team's success; work both independently and in a team environment to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Exhibit a positive, can-do attitude with inquisitive curiosity
  • Take ownership, act with a sense of urgency and exceed expectations by communicating effectively

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience administering equity or balanced portfolios
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, related field or related experience
  • Strong aptitude for strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Detail-oriented and well organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with SS&C Advent APX and related applications required
  • Experience with InvestCloud APL preferred
  • Experience with major custodial platforms (Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, Wells Fargo)
  • Experience with major intermediary platforms (UBS, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Vestmark, Envestnet)
