Responsibilities:

Equity Research Associate to join a small and mid-cap biotechnology team. We are looking for a motivated individual to join and work directly with the Senior Research analyst. The team will

  • Analyze individual biotech companies and market trends, composing company specific and thematic research reports
  • Building and maintaining financial models
  • Interviewing physicians and Key Opinion Leaders, across various disease areas,
  • Conducting deep scientific and clinical due diligence
  • Conducting scientific literature reviews
  • Interacting with Cantor s institutional sales force, traders, and investor clients

The associate will have room for increased responsibility, will have exposure to company management teams, will attend industry and investor conferences, and will join a culture that focuses on learning and mentorship.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding analytical skills. Ability to do deep primary research, analyze and draw conclusion from information.
  • MBA or CFA, or clear demonstration of financial modeling and valuation methodologies through coursework.
  • Strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, curious and inquisitive, and has a desire to learn about biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong sense of integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work well on teams, self-motivated, showing initiative, and willingness to incorporate constructive feedback to continually improve work product.
  • Educational Qualifications:

    • An exceptional academic pedigree, including a higher degree in a life-sciences related field (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) is preferred but not required.
    • If no Ph.D. or M.D, clear interest in medicine/biological sciences through university level

    coursework.

    Salary: $125,000 - $ 175,000

    The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $175,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
